Quand on sait que le coût d'entreposage d'un avion à un aérodrome coûte plus de 150 $ par mois, je crois que le calcul n'est pas difficile à faire.
Plusieurs pensent que le Transition est fait pour décoller sur les routes. Les concepteurs préviennent que l'avion n'est pas fait pour ça. Il doit absolument décoller d'une piste. C'est sûr que certains zigotos le feront (décoller d'une route). Mais je crois aussi que si les balises sont établies dès le départ par le constructeur, les assureurs seraient absolument dans leur droit de ne pas rembourser si le pilote a pris un risque en décollant ou en atterrissant sur un chemin.
Vous pouvez penser ce que vous voulez, mais si jamais je peux mettre la main là-dessus, j'enverrai des photos dans le forum...
Pour ceux que le Terrafugia Transition intéresse, le prototype de production a fait son premier vol le 23 mars dernier. Le communiqué a été envoyé aujourd'hui

The Transition® Flies!
Earlier today, Terrafugia, Inc. announced on ABC's Good Morning America, that "D2," one of our two Transition® Production Prototypes, completed its first test flight.
D2 flew at Plattsburgh International Airport (KPBG) on Friday morning, March 23, 2012. The 8-minute flight, piloted by Col. Phil Meeter (USAF-Retired), included a climb to 1,400 feet Above-Ground-Level (AGL) and a complete circuit in the traffic pattern. The flight came at the end of a full week of ground-testing, including a short runway hop earlier in the week. At the completion of the first test flight, the crew returned to Woburn to prepare D2 for its premier at the New York International Auto Show, and to begin analyzing the data from the week of testing. Drive-testing and Flight-testing will resume after the Auto Show.
The Transition(R) Flies
The flight was well-documented by a video crew from Award Productions. As part of the First-Flight Announcement, video of the flight premiered this morning. Following the Good Morning America appearance, Terrafugia, Inc. will appear on CNBC later this afternoon, followed by an appearance on Fox & Friends on Tuesday morning. D2 will move into the Javits Center on Tuesday afternoon, in preparation for the Auto Show Press Days on Wednesday, April 4 and Thursday, April 5. The Auto Show is open to the public April 6 through April 15.

Un hélico électrique, hybride ? Y'a pas encore une voiture capable de rouler 100 klm sans recharger les piles... Pense pas que c'est pour demain, même si j'espère que ça viendra. À 200K Ça serait vraiment pas cher !!!
