Delivered to the USAAF as aircraft No. 43-5373 on February 29, 1944 and flown to the Rome Air Depot, New York, arriving March 4. While based at Venice AAF, Florida it was involved in an accident in Georgia on July 31, 1944. Pilot – Maurice J. Dunkerly. Later imported into Canada and registered to Northern Wings Co. Ltd., Levis, Quebec on August 25, 1952 as CF-FQI. Missing from the Canadian civil register from 1955 to 1958. In 1959 it was registered to H.P. Boudreau, Sept Iles, Quebec. In 1961 it was registered to Valmond Blanchette etal and then in 1963 to Sept Iles Air Service, Sept Iles, Quebec. Registered to Quebec Labrador Airways, Sept Iles in 1964 and then on March 1, 1966 to Wheeler Northland Airways, St. Jean, Quebec. Registered to La Riviere Air Service, Schefferville, Quebec on August 31, 1967. Ownership changed to Airgava Ltd., Schefferville in 1976. C of A had expired on September 1, 1974 and not renewed until April 18, 1980 when it was registered to Jacques Fleury and L. Carignan, Warwick, Quebec. On May 24, 1980, after takeoff from Victoriaville, Quebec with ten parachutists on board, the engine failed climbing through 8,500 feet. The parachutists exited the aircraft and the pilot attempted a forced landing on a paved runway. Aircraft landed half way down the runway, hard brake was applied and the aircraft overturned causing substantial damage. The aircraft was rebuilt to Mark V standards by Gordon Hughes, Ignace, Ontario. In March 1992 it was offered for sale as a Mark V on Edo 7170 floats for $175,000. Registered to 2633-3898 Quebec Inc. (Vincent Coriville), Montreal, Quebec. Registered to Viking Outpost Cabins Ltd., Red Lake, Ontario on May 14, 1993.
