Le pire a été évité, aujourd'hui, en Pologne alors qu'un avion de ligne a atterri sans train d'atterrissage, sur le ventre, à Varsovie.
Le Boeing 767, de la compagnie polonaise LOT, avait décollé de l'aéroport de Newark, au New Jersey. Il s'est posé sans encombre à Varsovie-Okecie. Au total, 220 passagers et sept membres d'équipage se trouvaient à bord de l'appareil, mais personne n'a été blessé.
"You will remember this 767 that belly landed a month or so ago.The crew could not extend the landing gear after a hydraulic line for the center hyd system failed in flight. They could not extend the gear with the alternate extension system either and the aircraft ended up on its belly. The photo is of circuit breaker panel P6 in the cockpit. C.B. #C829 Bat Bus Dist was found popped by the investigators. That C.B. amoung other things protects the Alternate Gear Extension system. The breaker is not a monitored breaker so the crew was unaware it had popped. The aircraft was later jacked up and the C.B. reset. The AlternateGear Extension System worked normally and the gear extended."
