Vieux, vieux. Oui oui, il était très très vieux. Au moins 65 ans !!

Il faisait partie de cette équipe qui ont mis l'Hélio au monde, oui. Lui il était le pilote d'essaie. Il avait piloté des Helio a traver sl le monde. Il apportait des bibles dans les villages éloignés. allait chercher des malades. Leur apportait des pasteurs bibliques. Tout un bonhomme. Gentil comme tout. On avait eu une panne de chez pas quoi, sur le retour de Seatle. Au dessus des nuages. Moi je m'énervais et je lui criais de reprendre l'avion. Et Lui

We are over the clouds, but ceiling under should give us ample altitude to choose a field. There is no mountain. We have an electric Turn And Bank that still function. Lawrence J. Montgomery. A retrospective: Larry Montgomery served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, when he became a missionary pilot he was one of the first to fly the Helio from sandbars in the Philippines, and later flew numerous supply missions in Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia. He had over 11,500 hours in all models of the Helio. He served on the Board of Directors for Helio Aircraft Company from 1962-1973 as a tech rep and sales demo pilot. He then took over John Roberts LTD in Spartanburg, SC to form Larmont Aviation and specialized in the Helio Courier/SuperCourier. He flew a coast-to-coast demo tour in Helio Stallion N9550A in the summer of 1970 that resulted in no civilian sale. He checked out more pilots and flew demo's for more magazine articles than anyone currently flying an airplane in the STOL category. He ultimately passed away from injuries suffered from a delivery of an airplane en-rout from New England to South Carolina. Larry declared an emergency over Washington, D.C. when he became nearly unconscious due to open paint containers in the back of a Helio. He never fully recovered from this debilitating disaster.
