FAA requires older Piper planes to be checked for damaged cables
A Federal Aviation Administration safety directive set to be published in today's Federal Register mandates inspections and any necessary repairs of the control cable assembly on Piper airplanes more than 15 years old. Piper Aircraft Inc. released a statement saying the company considers the move "helpful to increase overall flight safety." The Wall Street Journal
