Regardez bien la photo ! C’est un ‘’Boeing, B-50A Superfortress‘’ !
Hey Friend,
Today is a very special day in aviation history. On this day February, 27 in 1949, Capt. James Gallagher and a United States Air Force crew of 13 flew a Boeing B-50A Superfortress around the world nonstop from Ft. Worth, returning to the same point.
The flight covered 23,452 miles in 94 hours and 1 minute, with four aerial refueling en route.
Put another way, the trip took nearly 4 full days! Now that’s a long flight.
It’s accomplishments like these that push the limits of what’s possible that move the aviation industry forward and inspire us to follow our passion every day. We hope it has the same effect on you, too.
