I wanted to announce a new project that I think will be of interest to Jet-A burning BT brothers. Like most of you, I carry a collection of Jet Fuel Cards - the usual ones, UV Air, Epic, World (formally Colt), Arrow, CAA, Shell, etc. Every time that i was going to go somewhere - especially if I was using my iPad or iPhone - would take me 10 minutes or more to log into every website to see the price. I then had to remember which was lowest, and finally return to that website to issue a fuel release. This got exponential harder if I was looking at nearby airports.
I decided to finally do something about this and wrote a handy web application that will manage all my fuel cards for me. It's called JetFuelX. You add all of your fuel cards into it, and it automatically updates the prices with your fuel card provider - ensuring you are always using current data - without any work by the user (so no more uploading of CSV files, etc). You can do a search online and are given a listing of all the prices at the airport. You can also select nearby airports to check fuel prices. You can also issue a fuel release from the app. For me to search 10 fuel cards and 5 nearby airports, I can go from start to a fuel release in about 15 seconds.
I built this tool to allow for the easy management of fuel cards and to remove the common excuse of why we don't carry all the fuel cards - they are too cumbersome to check. No more, carry them all. I noticed this comment quite a few times here whenever the "what fuel cards do you carry" posting swings back around - speaking of which it is about time again...
I decided to release this service for free. No charge. I just want to see us lower our operational costs and maybe democratize fuel prices...just a little bit.
Check it out at http://www.jetfuelx.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and let me know what you think. If you have a great idea of something I should do, let me know. This is built for the owner/operator and is also being used (in the beta) by some large flight departments.
Did I mention Free? I'm tired of everything costing so much in aviation...

PS, these are not true prices.
